02/04/2009 The international mixed martial arts «ProFC: Russia v.s. Europe» tournament
On the 29th of March in Rostov-on-Don on arena of Sports Palace “SPORT-DON” the international mixed martial arts «ProFC: Russia v.s. Europe» tournament was held. By the beginning of event the Palace hall which can seat 4 thousands of people, was completely overcrowded.
Within the frames of tournament there were held 3 rating fights, 6 basic including one women’s fight, and the super fight Alexander Yemelianenko vs. Ibargim Magomedov.
In all 3 rating fights the representatives of rostov sports club “PERESVET” won the firm victory.
In the contest ProFC: Russia v.s. Europe (6 fights) 3 fights were won by the Russian sportsmen, 3- by the representatives of European sports clubs.
The culmination of the event was the super fight between A. Yemelianenko and I. Magomedov, the fight ended at the 51st second with the victory of Yemelianenko.
In the full swing of event there was held an auction. The lot was a complete set, consisting of 5 Pro FC «Russia vs Europe» singlets with the autographs of tournament participants, gloves and tracksuit ProFC.
nAfter a long opposition the lot was sold for 90 thousand rubles. All money, gained after selling the lot, were spent for charity and sent to the Child care centre № 4 “Maliutka”, specializing on children with organic lesion of central nervous system and psychic decease. The auction participant, who bought the lot, expressed a wish to remain anonymous. The lot was taken by his representative.
